Hello and welcome to the very first edition of BOOM! for 2023

And yes, you guessed it, we’ve started the year with an almighty BOOM! Already in January we have sold 7 businesses, have 3 more to complete this month and many more we’re in the process of valuing.

If you believe the press, we’re in a slow market, but not in the world of mergers and acquisitions. We currently have more than 4,600 buyers registered on our database who are actively looking to purchase a sales or lettings business. In late December 2022, we supported ACJ Sales and Lettings in Cardiff with the sale of their hugely successful and long-standing agency. ACJ Properties was established in 1993 and has grown to be the largest independent letting agency in the Vale of Glamorgan. We have to say this was one of our favourite projects to date. Selling your estate agency business isn’t easy, and we caught up with seller Anthony to get his thoughts on the process, and why it’s taken a bit of time to finally feel ready to reap the benefits of his new-found freedom.

We’re hitting the road next month and are delighted to have been asked to present at the Propertymark regional conferences throughout the year.

In February, we’ll be presenting in Southend-On-Sea on 21st and Solihull on 28th. These events are tailored for agents of all levels and help you stay updated with legislative changes and you’ll get the latest thinking on best practices for the industry. Lucy is incredibly proud to be an advisory board member for the Women in Estate Agency's group and their inaugural conference is taking place at the Cavendish Conference Centre in London on 2nd March this year.
